Post-worship gathering

On the 10th of January, 1976, Nick and Joy Hunter were joined in a Service of Blessing at St. Helen's Anglican Church, Bishopsgate, in London England. Presided by the very famous Dick Lucas, Rector at St Helen's from 1961 to 1998, it was a moment of communion that began the half-century journey that led Joy and Nick to us here at abbeychurch.

Through much uncertainty, fear, doubt, and faith, Nick and Joy came together as newly-minted Christians to express their commitment to each other and to God. This week we will celebrate this milestone in their lives together by gathering in community after the Service this Sunday. Both of these beautiful humans have contributed deeply and generously to the life of the abbey, and we are grateful that they have chosen to share the current chapter of their lives with us. Here's to many more years of precious memories together!
