Reba to be ordained to the transitional diaconate!

We celebrate our own poet-in-residence, Reba Yeo, who will be ordained as a Deacon in transition on Sunday September 8th at 4:00 pm at Christ Church Cathedral.  

We welcome all AbbeyChurch folk to join us for worship at the Cathedral.  

We will not gather for 4pm worship as AbbeyChurch that day. 

Meet Reba Yeo (they/them)! Born and raised on the Saanich Peninsula, they have been a guest on unceded W̱SÁNEĆ and lək̓ʷəŋən Territories for most of their life. Reba is a recent graduate of Vancouver School of Theology’s M.Div. programme, and are working to complete an M.A. in Indigenous and Interreligious Studies there. On September 8th, they will be ordained a transitional deacon in the Anglican Church of Canada.  In addition to her contributions as AbbeyChurch poet-in-residence, they serve as Anglican co-Spiritual care provider for UVic's interfaith chapel.  Ask them about queer theology, tabletop roleplaying games, horror fiction podcasts, or what a “transitional deacon” is!
