Join  a virtual conversation with Robert YELḰÁTŦE Clifford about the threat to Goldstream River

Thursday, November 7 from 7:00 to 8:30pm on Zoom (registration required)

Throughout the last year a number of us have been writing letters to Provincial Government officials and standing with W̱SÁNEĆ elder Carl Olsen at Goldstream Park raising awareness about the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure’s proposal that will threaten the entire Goldstream habitat and violate the Douglas Treaty.

Now we invite you to share in what we believe will be an alive and informative 90 minutes with Rob YELḰÁTŦE Clifford who will speak through the lens of W̱SÁNEĆ Legal Theory to the B.C. government’s proposal to expand the Malahat highway by SELE₭TEȽ (known as the Goldstream River). Drawing on W̱SÁNEĆ stories he will provide a W̱SÁNEĆ framework for understanding the harm that this proposal can incur to the trees, water, salmon, birds, animals and to the W̱SÁNEĆ people, as well as the implications of this shift in framework.
